FAQ's, cos everyone has Q's... right!!
How much does it cost and do I need to pay a deposit to book?
We like to keep things simple and transparent. Our services are charged at a flat daily rate of £300, with no hidden costs. All details are clearly outlined in our terms and conditions, so you know exactly what to expect.
To secure your booking, we require a £100 deposit. The remaining balance is then due 6 weeks before your wedding day. If your booking is made within 6 weeks of the wedding, full payment will be required at the time of booking.
We’ll also keep you up to date with your payments by sending an updated hirer booking form each time a payment or change of arrangements is made, so you can easily keep track of your booking.
How far in advance should I book my wedding car?
It's always difficult to answer this because we only attend one wedding in a day. As with everything else, we can only suggest you book as early as you can.
How do I check if a car is available on my wedding date?
It's easy, give us a call 07799 060 087 or send us a message from here on our website (below!)
We answer quite quickly, normally the same day or at the latest within 24hrs, so you'll have your answer very soon.
Tell me about the car and can I view it before booking?
It makes you feel special - Our Cowley Landaulette has been designed to make you feel amazing, ensuring the entrance to your wedding is unforgettable, ‘it does exactly what it’s been built for’. A vehicle that’s bursting with charm, charisma, and timeless elegance is inspired by a 1930s Austin 16 – Berkeley, it combines comfort, status, and practicality, making it perfect for your wedding day.
What Is a Landaulette? - A Landaulette is a classic design, in short, a covered driver’s compartment and a cabriolet fold-down rear roof. Historically, these vehicles were used to transport royalty to special occasions, especially weddings allowing the passengers to ‘Do the Wave’.
Why It’s Ideal for Your Special Day? - This Cowley presents a highly polished exterior; the ivory and black two-tone colour looks elegant while remaining neutral. Its convertible rear hood can be lowered and raised in seconds, providing open-air photo opportunities and wide rear doors allow easy access. Inside, you’ll find beautifully upholstered leather seating, plush carpets, perfect for even the most voluminous wedding dresses. This car is built for sophistication and practicality offering generous legroom, allowing you to travel in comfort.
Add Your Personal Touch - We can provide complimentary ribbon decorations in your chosen colour, so you can match the car to your theme and create picture-perfect moments.
Come See for Yourself - We encourage you to view the car in person and experience the quality and style for yourself. We’re confident it will make your special day even more memorable. If that's not possible i.e. you may live outside of the Furness peninsula, we're more than happy to do a live video walk round while we talk to you. It's important to us you make the right choice.
How many passengers can the car accommodate?
We can accommodate up to 5 passengers (4 in the back and 1 in the front). However, from experience, we recommend keeping numbers lower where possible, as some wedding dresses require extra space to avoid creasing.
Are chauffeurs included with the hire?
Yes, Your chauffeur will be smart, attentive and will go out their way to deliver your requirements.
Can the car be used for photographs?
Absolutely! We’re confident you’ll capture some fantastic photos and create memories to keep and treasure. There are no time limits, so there’s no need to worry about getting the photos you want. We can also offer some ideas to help make sure you get the perfect photos. Just be yourselves and have fun!
We like Champagne, is this part of the service?
Hmmm... er... This is a sort of No, but Yes answer!!
We have to follow the Licencing Act 2003 which means we can't sell or offer you a 'complimentary, free or gifted' drink. However, we can follow a 'Bring your own Bottle' (BYOB) rule. Our T&C's clearly lay out the requirements, the standard practice is to hand your chosen beverage to the chauffeur on arrival so it can be prepared ready for you.
What’s the history behind wedding cars and how did brides traditionally travel to the ceremony?
How a bride travels to the ceremony goes back centuries and has evolved over time. Early traditions tell us people used a horse and carriage before cars existed and they were often grandly decorated to show status and to celebrate the occasion. The journey itself was symbolic marking the bride’s transition from her family home to married life and welcoming the new spouse into the family. While the style of transport has evolved, the meaning remains the same, a special, memorable journey to one of the most important moments of your life.
What do you do in a wedding car?
The wedding car journey is a special part of the day, it allows you an opportunity to pause and take everything in. Before the ceremony, it’s often a chance to share a few quiet, meaningful moments with your dad or the loved one walking you down the aisle. It can help calm any nerves and make the build-up to your arrival feel even more special. After the ceremony, the journey becomes a moment for you and your partner to enjoy your first time alone as a married couple. It’s a chance to relax, reflect, and take it all in before heading into the celebrations.
